Hey folks,

My son purchased his first car and it is a 03 A4 1.8T auto. he has noticed that when he presses the lock button on the key fob the horn will not work. He said the lights work for the card.

The alarm setting does not beep the horn. It's a little "chirp." It should also chirp if the alarm is set when the doors lock manually using the key. I don't know where the "chirper" is located, but since the locking/unlocking/lights flashing work, then the chirper is probably defective. Someone on here will know where it is.

Your son will probably have other issues with the car. He should invest in VAGCOM, a software program that plugs into the OBDII port through a laptop, and can deliver a wealth of information
