Auto Dimming Side Mirror Doesn't Work
The driver side mirror of my 03 A4 3.0 doesn't auto-dim while the rear mirror and passenger side are okay. I brought it back to the dealer and they changed the mirror (part # 8E0-857-535-J
). I tested it tonight with a flash light and guess what; it is still the same, doesn't dim at all!!! I will give the service advisor a call tomorrow and I suspect it is the connector..... so do you guys have any ideas?
(Well, they should have test it before hand over the car to the customers..... easy to test in board daylight, just cover the sensor at the back of the rear mirror and all three of them should dim)

Well, it is pretty easy.
Night time: just aim a flash light at the rear view mirror (the sensor is in the top middle) and all three mirrors should dim
Day time: all you have to do is to cover the sensor at the back of the rearview mirror (closer to the passenger side) and all three mirrors should dim

after testing it, i don't think the one on the driver's side is working...my car's due for maintenance pretty soon, so i'm gonna deal with that later
yeah...i was talking to my friend this morning about the possibility that the dealer might've swapped it before i got the car. my friend doesn't think that AoA would do something like this though

I called my service advisor this morning and he said the tech tested it yesterday after changing the mirror and it was fine..... I highly doubt that.... he said he is going to ask the tech to see what is going one and I am still waiting for his phone call.

Was there a solution to this issue? I have a Q7 driver side dimming mirrow works only when it wants. All motions of mirrow works alright, mirrow heater works ok.
However rear view and passager sides mirrows will dim except driver side.
