Cylinder head sourcing, ebay or ?
Hello,
Here's my story. I bought an AMB A4 Quattro with a blown head gasket, dropped the head off at a local machine shop and they're saying that it's warped and cracked pretty badly. I think they can fix it (not sure on the price they want yet) but I noticed that there were re-built heads on ebay for pretty cheap, some with new aftermarket castings (that I am skeptical of)
My experience with cheap Ebay parts has been about 50/50 so I'm wondering if anyone else has bought a new or rebuilt head from one of the sellers there and if you had any problems.
Or- is there somewhere better to get one? www.car-part.com has them starting at about 400$ but I don't think I'd put it on the car without having it looked at. Half of them listed say bent valves etc.
Thanks for your time!
