bad relays in ECU box? (ECM Power Relay Control Circuit (J271): Open) cars not starting
<center><img src="http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d97/killahcortez/c65c717f.jpg"></center><p>heres the story...
cars been chipped mulitple times by previous owner and managed to a ****ing ****ty job sealing the ECU box back up...
i sent the ECU to eurocde for a REVO flash and when i go back to install it, i look down into the ECU box and theres water...this is like a good 2-3" of water and the 3 relays are totally submerged...
sucked it out with a wet vac and then removed the relays...
went to audi today and i got one of the three relays (219)..other two are on order...
the numbers on the top of the relays are as follows...
219, 373, 393...
the car then started to run the fan until the battery died...this is a normal procedure for the car to do when it senses water in the ECU box (im assuming a way to hopefully kill the car and not to fry the ECU) fine...we dryed it out and disconnected the fan harness and the car was starting fine...BUT then after cleaning the terminals and drying everything out nice today...i pop the two old relays back in and the one 219 NEW one and now the car wont start...theres a CEL
i VAG'd it and i threw a "relay open"
heres the VAG code:
1 Fault Found:
17069 - ECM Power Relay Control Circuit (J271): Open
P0685 - 004 - No Signal/Communication
heres the question...
WHAT DO THOSE 3 RELAYS DO?
i need to find out if the code corresponds to one of the relays...
please help out if u have any info...this is a nightmare...

how do i fix this?
at pin 121? is that a particular spot within that female end? or are u saying its that center relay spot (219)?
how do i go about fixing this...
i went to audi today and that female end is not orderable...
i need to buy the individual wires and have it rewired? is there a specific spot i ned replaced? is the only way to know a current reader and test each spot?
the corrosion has done its damage now and after unpluging the relay it no longer connects...
where should i take this as audis hourly is insane and i fear theyll just tell me to buy a new harness

Try a salvage yard, I purchased a whole coil wire harness for $10, when a new one would have cost me like $400. Take a pic of the plug with you, as some of the volkswagons have the same plugs, my wiring harness came out of a passat.
