Hello All.

Does anyone know what other vehicles are interchangeable with the A4 Cabriolet? specifically, are the hoods and trunk lids from 4 doors interchangeable? and are the hoods and or trunk lids from VW Passats, interchangeable with Audi a4 convertibles?

I also would love to have an answer to this question? I have an 07 A4 Cabriolet that rear ended someone so I need to replace hood, bumper, grille, headlights, everything up to the engine starting from the front essentially. I am trying to find out if I can use a hood or bumper or grille from a sedan or coupe, or will only Cabriolet parts work? Thank you in advance if someone knows the answer!

Wrecking yards and some body shops have access to interchangeability tables that can usually answer questions like these. Yards always have them - at least the bigger ones.

As the owner of a B5.5 ('04) Passat and also a B6 ('03) Audi, I can tell you that with the exception of the drive train, they are two different cars, designed by different teams, made in different factories. They drive completely differently (different shocks/springs), turn their wipers on differently (diff stalks), and generally go after different customers. To those used to GM badge engineering, it's a change. As I write this, I'm wondering if the door hinges are different, I'm going to check.

After the B5.5/A4 similarities, I believe the VW brand diverged from Audi beginning in '06 or so. As I recall, the magazines back then said they'd prefer the previous generation of VW, as the newer ones were... cheap. And when the A3 had been out for a couple of years, I was given the basic model as a loaner by my Audi dealer. I have to say I was offended that Audi would put its badge on such a stripper.
