Hi everyone. My vehicle is actually a 2003 B5.5 Passat, but I understand my car has the 2 litre 20V ALT petrol engine, also found on Audi A4s of the time.

I have oil leaking at the rear of the head, and I have traced it to the VVT cam adjuster at the rear of the head. I believe there are some seals I can replace. I have tried to remove the cam adjuster, to no avail.. Any sparse documentation I can find on it simply says "undo the three bolts, and simply remove", and ends there. With the three bolts undone, it just will not move.

If anyone has had this trouble changing the cam adjuster / seals on their A4, I would love to hear how you solved it. I have come to understand that the ALT engine is an Audi engine and relatively rare on a Passat, therefore I haven't been able to get much information on the VW forums. Any help would be appreciated.
