CC mod update...what! No pics?! Long, questions ..TIA

well I might be farked. Or, I might be OK. again, today, I got some condensation in my R side housing. A good bit. I know those holes are sealed! So, I really suspect the back door gasket. sure enough, I pull the housing, and there's some water along about 3" of gasket on the bottom side of the back door of the housing. I had some gasket material so I reinforced the bottom. I also AGAIN cleaned up the area around the CC holes and RE SEALED them with JB Weld. We'll try it again. But, I'm gonna call Josh this week. I've emailed some e code gurus, cause now I think it's a done deal. Ive had enough. But my real concern is, is this a problem in all these Bi Xenon housings? Should I talk to the dealer at all? Would/could they just order me a door?
Could I buy that part?
Just buy E Codes! Don't CC. I'm convinced. Now I dont even have my stock lights! FARK!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the rant.

Sucks

Ummm, I really don't know if you can buy just the door. I want to say yes, but don't quote me. Either way, if you can't, then you're probably going to be screwed on the warranty end of it since you drilled them. Hope you can get the door.

i have condensation in my ecodes.

i guess it's a price for living in wet climate.

MuRaN0Daddy 11-24-2004 03:40 PM

No way. That's not normal. They should be sealed units.

Hakon 11-24-2004 04:07 PM

beats me why. i noticed a band of vapour at the bottom of both units

unless it rains tomorrow, i'll yank them out for a check-up. i'm somewhat ticked off since it shouldn't have happened. my foglights have an occasional haze, but my car is lowered & i don't avoid, nor stop for puddles.

SAME LOOK... that band across the bottom.

I have had condensation in my passenger housing for 3+ weeks now. more...

I have an '05 with bi-xenons... and at first my dealer told me to leave my lights on for 10 minutes... didn't work... left my xenons with highs on for 30 minutes... didn't work... drove for 2 hours with xenons on... condensation still there... after a week and a half I talked to my buddy in the service department and he basically said AoA doesn't replace housings due to condensation... it's supposed to be normal... but he said he'd see what he could do. a couple days later he told me he had a passenger side housing on order for me... I'm still waiting for him to get back to me.

I dunno....you'd think you wouldn't have to deal with these problems on a $36k car... oh well. :)

What's annoying is that AoA says condensation is normal. I call BS. talk to any other luxury car maker...lexus, BMW, MB... if they had condensation in the headlights they would be replaced immediately. go figure.

You should see the gleam in wifey's eyes when she sees a headlight on the dining room table! "Grow up!" "Never!"
