Default CD player/Radio not working

Well my friend got himself a audi a4 b6 1.8 quattro. His original radio (symphony 2) worked when he got the car, but stoped working after a day or two, randomly. We tried changing the radio and no help, we checked all the cabels, all the fuses, in the side of the car and the fuse on the new radios, even tried 4 different once who we knew worked. We tried taking of the power of the battery and putting it back after time whiteout any progress. Anyone know any solution to this problem? as my friend is keen on keeping the car, however he also wants to listen to music.

Do you have the security codes for any of these radios?

If you have verified battery power to the connector, I would next check the ground(s). A quick look at a wiring schematic for the B6 series didn't show me anything for the radio, unfortunately. By the way, I recently threw away my old AM/FM cassett/CD changer and installed an aftermarket, direct fit GPS navigation/bluetooth/dual USB/SD/DVD/AM-FM, with input connector for a rear view camera, cost all of $230. It looks totally factory original- same illumination at night as the HVAC controls below it, works with the steering wheel controls too.

Once you figure why the old radios aren't powering up, your friend might want to consider an upgrade such as this.

Radio itself as a 10amp fuse in the back of the radio. If looking at the back of the radio, the lowest of the three connectors, the very bottom right (corner) pin is ground and the pin above it is power. I was able to power my radio out of the car this way with a 12V source. If you have the word "SAFE" displayed, you'll need to enter radio code.
