Check Engine Light
For a period of two weeks, my check engine light was on (solid) whenever I drove the car.
It started being lit after a quick acceleration on an on-ramp 2 days after I got gas. I filled up with gas twice after that. Then it stopped being lit 4 days after I got gas.
I know that the gas cap being loose is a possible cause, but I figured it would have been solved after the first filling of gas.
I assume there is an interupt code stored whenever the check engine light trips. Is this code kept after the light has dissappeared on its own? and is the warning light dependent on an artifact of an interupt/code, or is it evaluated independently for each start up?
BTW, there didn't seem to be any performance issues when the warning light came up, so I kept driving. Appointment for service this week, which I might cancel since the warning has extinguished.

Re: I wouldn't cancel the appt. What dealer??? I'm in Bos. area.
Car bought at Clair Motors, and I'm planning to have it serviced there. I used to go to the Park Audi in Lawrence (I thought they were Soooo good compared to service in Ottawa Canada), but they're moving up to Nashua NH. Also, Park wasn't planning on selling CVT's, so I couldn't buy a car from there. Their loss. Clair's gain.
