Code PO341: sensor or more? need advice
my check engine light keeps coming on with a po341 code. After a few hours of diagnostics my IND mechanic believes the CAT is not dysfunctional, that I need to replace the CAT sensor to the tune of $895. If this doesn't fix it, and light comes back,he recommends replacing the CAT all together.
I have an 02 A4 with 97K miles.
Does this sound right? Other threads mention timing being off, or faulty sensor wires as a possible cause of the code.
Not sure if I should get a second opinion or replace the sensor and see if that fixes it. I will need to clear the code for a Sep 09 emissions test regardless. What risks might I run by not having the sensor replaced, either now, or by waiting until my emissions test in Sept?
