creaking when turing steering wheel

Redneck remedies:
The OP could make only left turns.
I had a friend once whose cv joints were pretty bad. I told him to never give the car gas while the wheel was turned. So he would have to anticipate the corners with enough entry speed to coast through them, and only accelerate when the wheels were straight. He got into it, and drove for a couple of years like that with joints that would really click if he cornered normally.

My A4 made creaking noises at low speeds. Kind of sounded like a creaking door in some horror film.
I was replacing all the control arms, bushings, inner & outer tie rods, springs, shocks, and mounts in the suspension and steering.
The new Sway Bar Bracket for the passenger side had messed up threads. I ordered a replacement. I had to put the old one on because I had to take the car in for an alignment. When I was leaving to drive to the alignment shop, the passenger side now was only making the creaking noise.
Everything at this moment had been replaced minus the sway bar bracket. The car continued to make the creaking noise until the new bracket came in and I replaced it. The sound went away.
The bushings looked fine, but they were likely dried out inside and made that noise.
