Just wanted to share my experience. My engine started rumbling (especially after a cold start..but also during the day too). I was getting a Cyl #1 Misfire error through VAG & the engine check light. I replaced the ignition coil assembly ($200) and no dice. So then I replaced the spark plugs and the problem seemed to go away for a day or so but then came back. So then I replaced the spark plug wires...no dice. Finally, I purchased a new fuel injector and replaced the injector on Cylinder #1 only. Bingo, the fuel injector replacement solved the whole problem. BTW, it was a real pain in the butt to install that fuel injector. We had to lift off the whole fuel rod assembly and it was really really stiff. If you ever have to do it, dont get discouraged...just keep pulling on it.
