does car insurance cover over seas visits..ie turkey? or should i get just get insurance over there.

From the insurance companies that I have worked for none of them cover any car outside the states and cannada, some may allow to go into mexico but they are few and far in between. You should look into shipping insurance which would be seperate then that covering the car overseas also. Just do some searches on the net and you find some good info on this stuff.
