Firewall passthrough??
Anyone successfully got a wire through the firewall to the dash?
Ah man, I thought installing my remote radar detector was gonna be a piece of cake. Especially when I saw a rubber plug in the firewall, which seems like the perfect spot to guide the wires from the antenna (which is mounted behind the lower grill) through.
Well, I've tried for 3 hours getting a wire through...then I gave up. Actually, getting the wires through the metal firewall is no problem at all, but right behind it is (I think) the airconditioner which is isolated in rubbery foam. For some reason, the wires go in from the engine bay side....but I never see em commin out under the dash. I removed the glove compartment for easy access. Still no luck. Maybe someone has found a better way(or spot) to do it. <sigh>
I've used the plug next to the battery, right in front of the passenger seat.
Any help is appreciated, I can't drive without my radar detector much longer

Well, basically a Beltronics Vector LR Remote, but...
...its adjusted and tuned for the European radar systems by a Dutch company named Stinger. I've had one for years. Its the best you can get for our roads.<ul><li><a href="http://www.beltronics.com/vectorlrremote.html">It looks like this...but the software is different.</a></li></ul>
