Got Bored Today, So I decided to Install the Snub on my 3.0L

Man, I was getting worried when you didn't call me back..
I'm glad everything went smooth. I hope I didn't confuse you with anything. This is one of those jobs that is time consuming the first time but would be a piece of cake the second. You should add to your write up about making sure you align all the bolts back to their original locations when assembling. Do you think it would have messed anything up if you didn't?
Great write up. I should have documented my install better so I could have given you more help. You are a great asset to the forum.

Awesome! Inspiration for another fellow 3.0 owner here!
I'm confused though, I thought I've read other posts from people who said that the aftermarket snub mount caused more vibrations because it's stiffer than the OE.

LOL...
Apprentice?
Sorry got one of those already...Hired him last year about this time. Great kid and will bring him on-board, Full Time when he graduates.
But if yer an M-Engineer in Construction, then I'd consider it.
Considering going to the GTG?

I can't answer for others and possibly the comments you've heard about are from 1.8Ters...
But here are my spare change comments:
1. The APR while it is definitely very firm and very much firmer than stock but,
IMO has a perfect compression rating for our application.
2. Placement, adjustment and final tightening of front snub "cup" plate bracket is KEY...
After engine has warmed up, even spacing between snub and snub cup is essential and adjusted accordingly before final tightening.
3. After spirited driving last night and this morning; Absolutely NO VIBRATIONS...Just bliss
Comment regarding Snub on 1.8T:
Maybe why vibration is an issue is that the snub maybe very snug to the Snub Cup...
Meaning no gap is present. Most possibly either not adjusted properly during install or the snub itself does not have any play.
For the 3.0L; there is a gap (approx. 3/8") and possibly conversly, this gap may not be present "out-of-the-box" for the 1.8T w/o any shaving (I've heard ppl doing this too).
Just my thought here though.
