GRRRRRR!!!!Stone hit my hood driving this morning...
 

Traffic was heavy on Hwy 101 to San Francisco but everyone was driving fast....Suddenly a small spec was bouncing on the road from the left and coming towards my lane fast. The spec got as big as a golfball as it got close ...cars on all sides...no where to go....all I heard was a pronounced "Thump" as the thing hit & bounce on my hood. Good thing it missed my windshield.
Only when I finally parked in downtown that I saw the 2" long and 1/4" wide gawge the stone did on my car hood...its not dented, but the deep scratch looks bad on a Brilliant Black hood...
Oh well, let see how good I am on the touch up paint tonight.

get a CF hood!

Don't do touch up yet!! See if you can get it buffed out first.
 

If the scratch isn't all the way to the metal you should be able to have it buffed out for a small fee, and it will look better than touch up IMO.

ya and get beheaded in a front end collision

I had the same thing happen with my wife's A4 about 6 months ago...it SUCKS!

me to, except it wasnt a stone but a damn nail!! flew out of a toolbox on 95 and scraped my hood
