Default Help please! I need some help identifying what broken hose I have found...

I have been noticing a small amount of oil on the concrete slab in my carport recently and have made an appointment to take my car in to have it looked at (but not until next Wednesday).

When I got home today, I cracked the hood to have another look around and found a cracked, no wait, blown open hose on the top of the backside of the engine! Can you guys tell me what hose this is?? Should I be parking the car and leaving her at home? Or is this un-related to my oil leak??

Thanks in advance...

Default Breather Hose; probably okay to drive but might make it messy inside the engine bay.

There is a VIN split for this part.

06B 103 221 B
06B 103 221 F >> 8E-3-500 000

Default I might go by the dealer in the morning and have them look at it.

If they can get me in earlier then a week from now, maybe I'll leave it there.

Default It's a common failure

And not severely detrimental to normal car operations.

Default Could it be related to the oil I am finding where I park?

Would the hose carry anything besides vapor off the engine? Enought to make a drip like a small oil leak?

I had the same hose fail...plenty driveable and probably unrelated to the oil leak.

Default Yeah, just a breather.. it will slobber oil vapor out.

I was thinking of routing that to a catch can with a breather filter instead of that nasty junk coating the valves and heating the intake air (it does, and badly)..

This problem has been reported here a few times. Looks like an easy fix.
