help problems starting

i have an 2004 audi a4 ultra sport 3.0L and i am having problems starting it. a week before it stopped working i would drive down the road and it would randomly stall or die. then one night after work the car started but couldn't keep the rpms up so it died. now it wont fully turn over. Im wondering if its the fuel pump or what. PLEASE let know what you think it is or what i should test or check out

had the same problem

Sometimes engine would turn off while idling in traffic and couldn't turn back on. Turned out to be the fault of something called "crank sensor". replaced and back to normal.

is there a cel? mine had no cel and died while the wife was driving home. went to the car and did some really simple things to check. first pulled the maf sensor plug on the intake. no go. pulled one of the front coil packs grabbed a long screwdriver, tip of the driver inside the pack and made contact with the stem to the motor. cranked the motor with a helper to check for spark, had it. last i checked the fuel into the motor. all i had was maf sensor cleaner but starter would have been the same. released the two clips on the intake b4 the maf and sprayed some cleaner directly into the opening toward the motor. tried to start, it did and then stalled. the car wasn't getting fuel. pulled the rear seat to listen to the pump and it was making a sound. check the power to the pump with a multimeter and i had power. the pump was the problem. there were no indications that the pump was going untill it stalled while driving and would no restart. hope this helps. cost me 225.00 for the pump and filter and did it myself in a parking lot. we are back on the road just fine.
