The hidden boost button.....
The manual says that the CVT kickdown feature is activated when you press the accelerator to the floor, past the point of resistance. Well, I didnt realise that they *really* meant resistance. I just pushed it as far as it wanted to go, and assumed that was normal. Like every other auto I've had.
No - there is a spot where if you press *really* hard, it kicks down. That's the point of resistance the manual talks about. Then engine then revs out like crazy, actually kicking down. It's like having a turbo boost - and that matters on the 2.0L (96KW / 200NM). It works in Tiptronic mode too.
So folks, be prepared to *really* push down on that accelerator hard.
