how do you read audi wiring diagram? what is the K ? it is not shown in legend anywhere. trying to find wiring diagram for emergency flasher. i found the BCM on floor of driver in a black box, it was all dry. no corrosion. but my flashers come on by themselves when i start car

That’s not a k. It’s a transistor. There is a pdf somewhere that actually says how to read Audi diagrams. The alarm is probably triggering the flasher. Make sure your key fobs are programmed correctly. Might want to scan the alarm control module.

Correct, that transistor symbol represents an entire electronic module with solid-state components.

i own the service manual digital copy. paid for, but does not say anywhere

The author of the manual assumes you should know the basics for electronics. Granted there are symbols that Audi have which are unknown until someone produces a document for them, but the transistor one you should know that. Take a class you might enjoy it.

There is usually a "How to read wiring diagrams" page right before all the wiring diagrams in Bentley manuals. In all of my old Bentley manuals for VW Mk2, Mk3, and Mk4 models, they have it listed in the symbols legend as "Electronic Control" or "Electronic Control Module".
