Interesting HVAC issue...wondering if anyone else has noticed this?
Every now and then, when i have the compressor on and temp set to 68 or what not, with 3 or 4 "blips" on the fan speed indicator....NOTHING comes out.
This will usually stay this way for a good amount of time after the car has first started (i know it doesn't usually come right on when car starts, but this is *way* longer than it usually takes). Only if i turn the fan all the way up do i start to feel the air move, and then it's only as powerful as one or to "blips" usually are.
I guess i would describe it as "the fans sounds like they're spinning, but it seems like the air is being blocked"
After driving for a while, it will usually kick back in, also restarting the car sometimes fixes it.
This happens pretty randomly, but i thought it was weird.
Any ideas?

Last week I had a similar problem. I was running the air on 68 and I was at a stop light. all of a sudden the engine made a knocking type noise and vibrated the whole car. Warm air came out. I put the fan on high and cool air started to flow out. It has not happened since and cold air flows fine now. Any info on what it might be?

I had a wierd problem too
A/C was on...increased the temp to 80 and the A/C kept blowing without a change in temp....increased it to 83 and up and the Heat finally started flowing. Same thing happened on the way down from 83 to 75...no change..had to continue lowering temp for the A/C to start blowing cool air.

Well, it may be overriding and doing what it does in auto mode; Wait until the engine is actually(m)
warm enough for warm air to come out of the vents. Otherwise, it would just be blowing freezing cold air at you anyway, because the coolant temp hasn't come up enough to allow the heater core to do anything.
If you notice in auto mode, the vent speed will stay at one or two bars until the engine has just barely started to warm up, then slowly raise it so that it warms the cabin without blowing cold air at you.

Check if there's air coming out of the defrost and floor vents. I bet there is.
Mine doesn't turn on the dash vents until the engine is warm. It's polite enough not to blow cold air on my face.
