Default intermittent fault on lights - help!

Hi all

I have a 2002 model (Auto, 1.8 petrol) and I have started getting intermittent warnings of centre brake light failure coming up on the dashboard. Often happens with the number plate light too at the same time.

The bulbs must be fine otherwise these lights would be permanently out! Any ideas?

Thanks in advance all.

P.S. I've always noticed I get slight electric shocks from the side doors, may be my imagination but feels slightly worse at the moment

Hi all, any ideas? The shocks are definitely quite painful when touching the doors, I don't think it's static! And the centre brake light intermittent fault is still there, though most of the time it's ok
