Went to unlock my trunk today, and it partially went on strike. I can hear it locking, but it won't unlock,from either the key fob, the door, or the trunk lid. For a couple minutes, I envisioned crawling through the back seat, but then, fooling with it, I discovered that by twisting the key clockwise, then fully back a couple of times the lock opens. But as soon as I close the lid its back being broken. The truck open light on the dash is also lit, even with the lid fully closed.

Is this a relatively simple plug and play fix? At the moment, I'm really behind in my life, so if it's a 2 hour thing I'll have to send it out.

I'm no help. Although my key fob and driver's doors switches don't work, the actual key in the trunk does. So, hasn't risen high enough on the list to tackle.

Is your "trunk open" light on the dash lit?

No. Since you symptoms are different and I have no light, there is something "wronger" with yours. Sounds like a bad ground or something like that.
