Every Audi line is getting re-designed
A4 started first because it was the oldest.
Can't say I've seen those A6 photos before, but I'd have to guess they are still a photoshop.

No car was really first. All Audis go through a 5 year design cycle.
It's not a new idea. You can say the A6 was first because it was redesigned before the new A4, in 98. Or wait, you can say the A8 was first because it was redesigned back in 97. There really is no "first".
