New to me A4 with NO keys! HELP!

I just did some amazing horse trading and ended up with a 2003 Audi A4. The shop that lean sold the car had just called a lock smith to come make a key for the car. They told me that the smith was unable to access the computer to allow the new key so they were unable to start it. So i have a key that locks the doors and cranks the motor but obviously it wont start. I have googled a few hours and have learned alot but have not found any answers. I understand that i need some numbers. A "pin"? or a SK something? I have access to the ross-tech cable and software but even my buddy who owns it says hes not sure how we get the pin or SK number. Can someone skool me really fast so we can check the motor and get this sexy car back on the road?

Unless something has changed, the only place to get a key synced with the car's immobilizer is at a dealer. They have a proprietary database that has the information needed.

Its gotta be towed to a dealer. There really is no way around it. Immo III cars use 7 digit pin that the dealer generates with a computer database.

As far as u understand it the dealer connects to the mothership in Germany and only then can it tell your car to learn a new key.

No way around this one.

I'm pretty sure that there are select locksmiths that are certified by Audi and other brands to replace and program keys. Google "Audi Locksmith key".

Like everyone else said it's gotta be towed to the Audi dealership.

An old thread, but...

The cheapest option is to send the ECU off to a specialist, who will defeat the immobiliser.

Agree with most of the guys above, take it to a dealer.
Be prepared to fork over at least $ 500 for two new keys.
