OBD2 P0161 and O2 sensor spacer

OBD2 P0161 and O2 sensor spacer
So recently got a OBD code P0431 suggesting i have that i have a bad Cat.
I dont remember what the code was off hand (sorry). The one where the downstream O2 sensor was picking up an irregular exhaust stream.
Anyway, so i read in one of these threads, using a spacer on the O2 sensor can trick the computer long enough to pass smog. So I put in a spacer and now I get this code (P0161). Is there anything short of replacing the Cat that I can do?
