What's up with parents buying ther 16 and 17 years old audi a4, bmw 325's and 30's, mercedes 240's. They should be ashamed of themselves. If I had all the money in the world I would buy them a M3, S4, AMG, porsche, heck I would buy them two porsche. In case you didn't know I'm being sarcastic. Why would you give a teenager an expensive car. They are going to beat the **** out of it, drive fast, won't maintain it, and not to mention the high insurance cost.

parents compete among themselves by outspending their neighbors. i know some, not particularly rich families, penny-pinching in order to buy their kid a lexus. i know a girl, who leased an a4 to attract a guy in a posche, at least..she's still very single, by the way .
it irks me, as i worked my way up from a datsun to an audi, while some got audi believing they deserved a bmw... life sucks.

Everyone starts out looking at life differently. The challanges they have are just...
different from the ones we have. I think it is important to understand the value of money. For some kids that "get it all", it may be difficult on them when they go out on there own. We all know it is hard to do in the first place, but if you have never had to be responsible financially, it will be very difficult. I think the parents need to be sure they don't support their kids throughout their entire lives.
I have a budget for "Mods" to my car. Things I planned to get before I bought it, and now I am having a difficult time getting off of that money, to spend it on the car.

chances are its theirs to begin with and their siblings use it when they dont...
most affluent individuals i know, that have children (which are old enough to drive of course) that either went away to school, or live in very rural areas, lease nothing more than honda's, vw's, and toyotas... on the flipside you have those spoiled kids who must have everything from atari to a z3... and on in the same vein there are also those kids who deserve it... if my child was an honors student or doing very well in an upper eschelon university i would have no problem rewarding him or her with such items... (maybe its just me)

hey man..
im 18 years old.. i bought my a4 with money that i have made over the past 4 years. summer, after school, and other odd jobs.i went a year with out even having a car.... i gathered about 28,000 bucks. i leased the car so i just pay the payments from that 28,000 with insurance. I know many teenagers are nuts with there cars, that is fact, but thats not everyone. some of us actually work for the car. Plus, I BABY THE **** out of my a4. I literally don't allow food, ciggerettes, muddy shoes and or anything else that will do **** to my car. Now, i understand what your saying but there are still teens that work for the car that THEY BUY. I live alone with my mother, my mother knew we couldn't afford a second car, she told me years ago that if i wanted one, i had to pay for it. my first job was making blueprints for 80 cents a print with a base price of 40 bucks a day. that was the ****test job ive ever had, i still have cuts from that, but i worked hard and made 2 grand from that 1 job over a school year. don't bash all teenagers. i have yet to be pulled over or get more then a scratch on my car. i have 5k miles and when u sit in the car, it SMELLS like the showroom demo.
