Default Pancake Valve Question

2004 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T

This valve is hissing and was not sure if this is normal. I changed the broken hose in the rear connecting to the crankcase breather and still hear the noise coming from it. I do have a problem with the car cutting off or dying when placing it from Park to drive or from a stop it would die on me. This problem of it dying is sproadic. I think that this is the culprit but was not sure. Would the EGR being clogged cause this problem or symtoms? Help would be appreciated.

Hi,

The reason your pancake is broken is probably because of your crankcase breather valve (near the oil filter) it causes all sorts of air problems in the engine, try getting your oil cap off with the engine running, if you cant you have a vacuum problem probably caused by the breather valve

you will probably get engine light on with following codes

engine running lean (unmetered air getting in the engine)
over revving at idle
pressure drop between dv and turbo
