People with dual smic, how much improvement do you get?

etc etc, wondering how it all works and is piped all together, are you using the stock and another aftermarket? rs4, s4 smic?

I have the dual IC's, they help out at over 50mph very well.

There is an improvement over the one stock unit for sure, I've had both setups..

That is Dual and now FMIC. The Dual setup consists of the stock unit you have now and an additional stock unit for the left side, which they use in the 190Hp A4 in Europe. So literally your just adding another stock IC. I had this setup but when I went with a T28, I decided to try the OCT FMIC and found a bigger improvement there, i.e. intake temps, flow, pressure Drop and turbo lag.

If they designed a Dual setup that had the same construction as the S4, or RS4 SMIC's then I would say they would be almost as good as a well designed FMIC.

The piping is not impressive IMO, for instance the turbo outlet hose has to make a u-turn back up to the 1st intercooler. They have plastic end tanks as well. There is a greater pressure loss with this Dual setup, compared to a FMIC as well.

But anything is better than one stock unit and the duals work fine. So I'd recommend the Duals if you're not crazy about the looks of a FMIC, but for more efficient cooling and flow, go FMIC. You will hear from these guys soon; AggregatVier, and Jet Jockey, they are big fans of the Duals.. : )

whats the setup? one stock and a custom smic?

DLSJ5 04-27-2004 09:52 PM

An additional Stock unit is added. It is a stock Audi SMIC...

Thanks for the compliment on my car. : ) Yeah we gotta meet up, I wanna try that Revo software and the Forge BOV... Maybe meet up that day, get some stuff done to the car, I haven't done anything in awhile!

Day'm I was hoping to pop that 93.49% efficiency of the duals on you later.

I'd love to grab onto it but that number just seems to violate the laws of physics.

I'll save the Bosch quotes for later. I think they're slightly more reliable. :)

BTW I note the latest batch of IC's are bumper "challenged" and are going with a smaller number of long horizontal channels in a thick body. You probably already know where I'm going with that, nicht wahr?
