Default Pirelli P6 Tires - Uneven Wear

Hello,

I have the 16" Pirelli P6 tires that came on the car. I am seeing un-even wear on the outside edge. I have had the car aligned and everything they look at is within specs. But, the tires continue to wear. I know I need new tires, but I want to make sure there is not a problem with my car prior to getting them.

Has anyone else had this? Do I believe the dealer that once the tires start to wear incorrectly, the tires go bad faster than normal?

Thanks

Default I had uneven wear, and outside edge balding but my car was/is pulling to right.

Also some slight "shredding" of the tread where the bad alignment was forcing the wheels to "jump"/"scrape".

Bought new tires and have an apppointment for alignment. My undertsnading is that you don't want to have the wear to differenet because of quattro -difft traction per tire makes the system think some wheels are slipping.

Also had P6's - but they seemed to be otherwise fine - now switched to Proxes 4 bought online. I found cheapest were edge racing (but they don;t answer the phone) and performanceplustire.com Vulcan tire prices also good.

Might be a silly question but you haven't had any the low inflation have you?

good luck.

Default Even though everyone said the tires suck.. that may not be the problem

You may have an alignment issue or something, so you may buy brand new tires to have the same thing happen.

Kept the tires inflated properly.... alignment has always been fine.... audi checked the suspension, checked out ok.... there is nothing wrong that anyone can find. I'll have to get new tires and just pray that the same thing doesn't happen.

Thanks
