I need some help 'Please'.

I have a A4 (2002) sedan 1.8T FWD my 01J transmission had a mechanical problem the belt inside was damaged, so we changed front half with another and put my good TCM into it, now when we tried it first the gears was not selecting so we made some adjustments to the cable and it worked, we then carried it for a run and it worked fine but after a mile or so then PRND lights came on we cleared it it ran for about a mile again then they came back on, I also noticed my gear selector is not lining up with the D but is moving through all the gears. any help wold be greatly appreciated thanks.

There is a small clamp on the top of the gearbox where the selector cable is supported that may have been moved when the box was taken about for the TCU, you could try slackening this off then re-adjusting.
