Reaffirming other people's impression of the Wetterauer 3.0 Chip: Very good mod!
I got the UPS notification that the ECU was at my house at 9:30 AM. So at lunch, I left the office to go home and install it. The install went much, MUCH faster than the uninstall! Most of that time, BTW, was spent cutting-off the frozen screws on my chastity belt.
The 3.0 chip actually is very smooth and builds power right off idle. Kelly Kay (General Mgr for Wetterauer) was right: the chip does seem to do-away with the hesitation when you first tip-into the throttle. It's now very progressive and linear. The torque increase is noticeable. As mentioned before, it's not earth-shattering, but it's apparent.) The high-end horsepower is noticeably increased. Overall, I think it was a great and worthwhile modification. I'll have to run-through a tank of fuel to see if my mileage increases or not. It might... but I'm having too much fun just jumping on the throttle!

The total down time was just a couple of days. I'm in SoCal and Wetterauer is in Valparaiso, Indiana. On Tuesday, I pulled the ECU out. Sent it Wednesday via USPS Express (insured for $800) Got it there Thursday, had it on my doorstep at 9:30 AM Friday.
If you go to APR's website, you can get instructions on pulling the ECU. My chastity belt bolts were pretty well frozen and I couldn't get them out by slotting them and using a large flat-head screwdriver. So I ended-up drilling them out. (Even the "Easy Out" couldn't back the bolts out of there.) Pulling the ECU isn't difficult, but is a little time consuming for the first time. Expect to spend about 30 minutes to an hour getting it out. After you get the ECU back, it took me all of 15 minutes to put it all back together.

Thanks. Uh-oh down time. Bad thing. Maybe do when I'm on work travel.
My dealer tried to convince me they're mod-friendly as long as you fess up, but reading some of that brit guy's warranty void posts makes me more of a p*ssy when it comes to messing w/this car. Hmm will do some thinking on this one...
