Is it really my ac blower motor?
So I have a 2004 a4 1.8T quattro and its ac is starting to act up. A few weeks ago I heard the fans oddly stop and go then out of nowhere my car felt like it lost power? and turned itself off mid driving. That only happened once but now sometimes the ac doesn't work at all while other times I can blast ac fine. When it doesn't work, the ac buttons still operate but if I go from feet to windshield I can hear the switch but no air comes. I took it to a mechanic who thinks its the blowermotor but he tells me its a ton of work to replace because he has to remove a ton of stuff to get to the blowermotor. I think he quoted 400 for labor while the part is another 500 - I look online and see a used one for 25: https://www.ebay.com/itm/03-04-05-06...b4-CQ&LH_BIN=1 - I also see instruction on the repair here and it doesn't seem to be all that intrusive: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...d_Resistor.htm Do you think this is the actual problem if the ac sometimes can work fine? If so do you think I can buy that part and fix it myself having almost 0 experience fixing things in cars? I appreciate any help - thanks
