Rear fog lights

Rear fog lights
Hey all. So I’ve been trying to get my 03 a4 together to pass inspection and I’m having a hard time figuring out the rear fog light situation. I’ve been searching and can’t get a definite answer on how they are supposed to work. As of right now my right rear fog light is always on when my lights are on. When I pull the **** out the left one will then turn on. Is that the way this car is? Is there a way I can jump out the right rear so it isn’t on? I’m nervous it won’t pass inspection and the way it looks I feel like it’s an easy reason for a cop to pull me over.

There is only one rear fog that comes on when you pull the the switch to the second detent. It is located in the left taillight cluster. Are you sure your right cluster is not working normally?

It may have something wrong with it. All the other lights work ok. And when I pulled the bulb out of that right side fog it sent an alert message on the dash. So it isn’t normal that the right side fog is always on when my lights are on? I guess I need to start looking for an issue.

Sorry for the late reply. It was actually a bulb with an X through it. But I found out the issue. A previous owner tied together the wires in the trunk so it was always on with the taillight. I don’t understand it, but I redid all the connections and it works perfect! Easy fix! I wish everything worked out that well. Lol

I get this light all time... right rear fog light out... but I do not see any light bulb out...visual nothing looks wrong when I check the rear of the car. left and right sides look exactly the same.
