S4 or M3? Help me decide. Please.
As you can see, I'm on the wait list for the S4, but my eyes keep wandering to the M3. If I go for the M, then I'd be one of "them", however, it's a great car.
The S4 speaks for itself. V8, Recaro's, etc. What would be some pros and cons either way? <img src="http://autonet.ca/autoshows/storyimages/story6676-picture6634-L.jpg"> <img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39033/m3_iaa.jpg"> |
Drive 'em. Everyone seems to have predispositions about the S4 being bland...
...but no one's really driven it. I'm reserving judgment, for now, on the S4. The M3 seems like a high-tech, guided road-missle, which will blow its hot-and-bothered engines and trannies too easily. I want one of those tempermental beasts badly.

like europa said....drive em both....but also
check out the M3 posts on roadfly - Ive heard the M3s have had some major issues so you should make sure the year your gettin is a goodie -

I drove the 4.2 A6. Although it's a heavier and has....
...about 40hp less, I wanted to see how it felt. It was nice, but not impressive.

Dude! Be one of the first to own the S4! M3's are everywhere now.
|
Just get the S4 man, im usually of a balanced opinion but eh, this time my gut just says S4!
|
it'd be cool to be the first to own the s4 until they're popular too, decide based on the cars
|
Yes, but it's only a very rough comparison. Forty horsies can do a lot for the engine ->
...especially when you consider that the S4's engine will be tuned to deliver power differently - louder, harsher, and just plain more of it - so might be a much more fun engine. Plus, the handling of the S4 will be deliberately different.

100% S4, don't switch to the "over valued" side!!!!!
|
plus what are torque comparisons, and weight differences and gearing?
plus unsprung weight etc.
