If you have any pics of your a4 with a ski rack please post with rack type.

I know this is way off season but for some reason today I am set on buying a snowboard rack for my 2003 avant.

The one I am looking to buy is a Thule SnowCat 5401 on Amazon.com.

You should buy a set of croosbars and mounting towers like the yakima lowriders and bars. They are much more versatile. The ones you are looking at cannot be used for anything other than skis. I use my bars for everything from moving my girlfriends futon back and forth from hollywood to carrying my thule box for snowboarding. You will also be able to take off the skiracks easily without removing the crossbars if you are not skiing for a week or so. I love my yakima bars and thule box but yakima makes a great ski rack called the powderhound.

I was thinking this would be a cheaper alternative to getting the crossbars and towers since I won't use it for anything but snowboarding.

You're right though, having the crossbars will be more versatile in the future.

yea no bugs either. lv has really bad moth season towards mar/april, the results are not pretty =/
