SOS Clutch failure?
So.....
I'm currently sitting in the side of the road waiting on a tow truck and I'm looking for a possible answer. I'm almost positive it was the clutch not the trans, well I'm hoping that is.
So I was coming around a corner at maybe 3.5krpm and I slowed down and went to downshift and sure enough while my foot was on the pedal, I went to shift gears and the clutch pedal just felt like it disengaged and it wouldn't go into gear. The clutch pedal feels like you're just pushing a spring tension pedal, nothing else. It won't physically go in gear unless the cars off. It sounds like it engages the transmission but it does feel a little rough maybe it's just me.
So as it gets towed to the shop I'm wondering if anyone can give me some piece of mind about it. For the record, I bought this one week ago tomorrow off my stepdad who bought it from a dealer less than 60 days ago...

It will be obvious when the mechanic looks at it, but it could also be an axle that has failed or backed out of the hub. I had this happen twice. Due to the nature of the Torsen unit, if this happens, all the torque goes to the failed axle, i.e. the only one that spins is the one disconnected. If the tries to do both, he is looking for work...
