symphony radio removal, damaged clips?
I am trying to remove a dead factory symphony radio from the Audi I bought last month, to replace it with aftermarket. I *DO* have the removal tools.
I insert the tools, all four click, but the bottom ones, soon as I let go, click again and then slip out. They are getting rather scratched up as well, so I suspect the clips on the bottom sides of the radio are damaged/broken, causing the tool not to actually pull them into the unit.
Considering this, what is the next course of action? Can I easily removal the panels going beside the radio, and push them in from the outside?

Once you click the removal keys into place. Try pulling the factory radio out by inserting your fingers into the cassette slot and then pulling it out. It sounds difficult, but I've managed to pull my factory radio out several times this route especially after the radio has been sitting there for some time and it's been lodged solid in it's place.
Removing the panels will definitely work, but someone will have to chime in on how to remove the side panels.
