what width snow tires do you run? 215? 205?
I just picked up a B6 Avant and I am looking at getting a dedicated snow tire package. What size tires do you guys run?
I am considering a 215/55R16 or a 205/60R16.
Also, what tires do you really like? I have used Blizzaks and Michelin Arctic Ice in the past with great success.

205/60R16 General Altimax Arctic are cheap and good performers
However, they are definitely more squirrely than my all-seasons. They last long, my current set has about 25K miles and still have lots of tread left.

215 & 205 are optimal widths for the weight of this car. I am running a 245-40-18 and
they are good in most conditions, but in deeper snow i start to float vs cutting thru. I will be getting 225's on my next set of snowtires once fall comes.

yeah i am leaning towards the 205's
I have run 205's on both my previous mk4 GTI as well as my B5 sedan. They worked great in the snow. Of course they do not handle like a nice summer tire, but I do require good snow performance as I will be using my Avant as a ski car too.

I'll sell some fresh 205/60-16 Hankook IceBear I-300, HR rated.About 200 miles on them, all in snow
I have a price in mind, but whatever, hit me with an offer. They are like a $75 tire new.
