Why no valet key? Doesn't make sense given the lock on trunk ...
As I understand it, you can lock the trunk and the back seat so that the trunk can't be opened without the remote. But, there's no valet key, so if you give your remote to the valet, they can open it anyway? I thought that plastic key was the valet key, but the manual says that is for emergencies and fits in all locks in the car. Am I missing something? FYI, I'm referring to an '03.

Basically, Audi's excuse for not giving you a valet key was that since more and more of car's electronics these days are located in the trunk, the techs need access to it when they work on your car. To avoid the invonvenience of you leaving them a valet key when you drop the car off for service, they decided they just won't give you one to begin with.
