Default Looks like I need either both O2 sensors replaced or both Cats replaced.

Address 01
Controller: 8E0 909 559 D
Component: 3.0L V6/5V G 0004
Coding: 0016751
Shop #: WSC 63351
2 Faults Found:
16805 - Warm Up Catalyst: Bank 1: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0421 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent
16815 - Warm Up Catalyst: Bank 2: Efficiency Below Threshold
P0431 - 001 - Upper Limit Exceeded - Intermittent

It is the second time I have had this code trip (last time was 6 months ago) so I guess I should bring the car in to see whether it is 02 sensor or Cat related. Either way, we're starting this year off like '08 with this car, spending money on repairs. =(

Default Unfortunately they don't make those for the 3.0 :(

Feel you pain, had both of mine replaced last fall out of my own wallet, fingers crossed for faulty O2 sensors for you!

Default Ouch. You have a warranty, right? Hopefully this is covered.

iirc Jimax just replaced one cat on his 3.0 and it was pretty expensive.

Default Do you have a VAG-COM? You should be able test to see if either your cat's or 02 sensors are bad.

Bracketracer helped me out a couple years back with the VAG-COM procedure to see if my cat or 02 sensors were bad.

I have a 4-cyl (1 bank = 1 cat + 2 sensors). I would think that the test should work the same for a 6-cyl (2 banks = 2 cats + 4 sensors).
