Default wiper replacement

my a4 is a 2004 model, and it claims wipers are replaceable for free in the warranty book. At 10k miles, Nashua, NH Audi fought me on this and then ended up giving me wipers. I'm here at the dealer now, at 20k miles, want them replaced and they won't do it now. The big claim is that Audi isn't reimbursing them for wipers unless they are torn. Of course, in the warranty book it just says normal wear for replacement.

anyone else having this issue, and if so what have you done. next step for me is to complain to Audi consumer service.....thanks....

Default how could you go through 2 sets of wipers in 20k miles...

what your dealer is telling you is correct.

Default unfortunately, your dealer is correct. AoA released TSB 920501 which limits dealer claims

Default Re: wiper replacement

I did call Audi and they said to have the dealer call if necessary but they are covered. My dealer is Mohegan Lake Motors in NY and they also said 'no longer covered' on my last visit. Next round I'll see they are changed.

ok, the dealer ended up changing my wipers in the end.....when he had said no initially, I signed the papers and then told him don't touch my wipers, that I'll call up Audi. When the car was finished, they told me they had replaced them. It's clear that their instructions are to challenge each customer, and if it looks like someone will complain then change them.

at any rate, I think the bulletin is logical....blades should be checked before changing, only change if they can't be improved. The problem with Audi, is they make you go in and wait for all this BS....my other complaint is for the light bulbs....I can change a $5 bulb myself in 5 minutes, but they insist it's warranty and then you wait 60min at the dealership for all the paperwork....ahh.....it's nice to complain, otherwise I do like my car.....

Default are you using them to scrape the ice/snow off your windshield or something...

new wipers every 10k miles is not normal wear and tear.
