Would an 04' S4 rear bumper fit on an 02' A4
 

I got rear ended this week and need to replace my rear bumper. I like the look of the S4 rear, but my local Audi dealer didn't know if the exhaust would line up properly and says he has no way to find out. They also don't have any S4's on their lot to compare it too.. (S4 rear is actually $ 70 cheaper than and A4 rear bumper....)

the bumper is cheaper and so are the "shocks" which absorb the impact. Dealers said they are the exact same as the A4's...These are each $ 50. cheaper EACH. Makes no sense....I just don't want to order the S4 rear and fit out that that exhaust doesn't fit properly....

I believe the s4 bumper sits a little lower than the stock a4 bumper but plenty of ppl have
 

installed it, so it is very possible.

Yes it will, however mine is a '03 sedan and shouldn't be any different vs. '02.
 

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/46462/83extc.jpg"></center><p>tip alignment will be near perfect...the NA-spec S4 rear extends outwards somewhat so your stock tips will look hidden. i have an aftermarket exhaust so I don't see that effect. you could always get some vibrant tips welded on.

your right, S4 rear is cheaper. should be around $350 + $150 for the chrome trunk strip. A4's won't fit.

sorry to hear about the accident, but the S4 bumper will make your car look sweet. make sure you go to a good shop.

just remember you need to buy that $150 metal trim piece that sits below the boot lid.

Ya, the dealer included this piece in his quote..I'm assuming that the trim piece is the same for both rears..

why is that? is it different than the one on the stock a4? any pics of the difference?

a4 is painted chrome plastic, s4 is 100% chrome... you absolutely need the S4 piece to fit.

from what I understand it's different....not sure why...I know the S4 is brushed metal vs shiny
