I have a 2008 A4. I just bought this in December, coming out of a 2007 A4 (long story...)
basically the same exact car. i took my K&N air filter out of my 07 and put it in my 08 as its the same model number for both. I noticed a fairly loud noise when accelerating on my 08 but not in my 07. since im under warranty, i took my car in. they claim its the K&N filter making the noise, which sounds like an air leak. they suggested removing the K&N, putting the factory one back in and see if the noise is still there. I did so and the noise is still there, just not as loud. I went on a test drive with the master tech and he said the noise is normal, its the turbo but I find that hard to believe as I just came out of an 07 with no noise and previously had 2 Audi turbos in the past with no noise. Any suggestions/help?
