2005-06 3.2 A-4 Owners...What's your average MPG around town ???

I got 28.3 mpg on a 30 mile trip this morning....
Couldn't believe it. This was rural roads, iirc my average speed was in the mid-30's. Once I realized how great my mileage was (about 14 miles in) I drove very gently for the remaining 16 miles.
I have about 9K miles on my car. Over on the A6 forum, people have commented that the 3.2 gets better mileage as it breaks in more (and it gets better performance-wise too).
The 28.3 seems pretty extreme though (Audi's specs are 26 mpg), I would guess that if you don't drive aggressively, on a broken in engine, you would get 25 mpg or so.

Averaging 21.2 mixed city/highway
I have 4400 miles on the car. I drive about half city/half highway. The city driving isn't that bad - generally no super long delays. I 'm going to reset trip computer 2 soon because I think the mileage is getting better (the 21.2 is over the last 2500 miles I think). Anyway, highway driving at 65 or so gets 27+ easily. And as others have reported, the engine is just getting smoother and stronger all the time. Awesome!

My guess...
Most of us with 3.2's probably have tiptronics, and in "D" the transmission really "works hard" to keep cruising revs below 2000 rpm. I am guessing by looking at the torque and HP curves for the 2.0t that with a manual transmission, you are driving with revs above 3000 quite a bit.
I did the same 30 mile drive yesterday (the day before I had 28.3 mpg with VERY gentle driving) and drove with a bit more of a lead foot, and frequently used the tiptronic to manually shift. I got 22.7 mpg. When I drive the car *really* hard I usually average 17-18 mpg.
