I am new to the forum as I have the opportunity to buy a 2006 A4 convertible as a summer project. Light damage to hood, bumper cover, passengers front fender, headlight and passengers side upper/lower control arms and strut.

Not looking to invest to much so I am looking at used oem hood, fender, bumper cover, etc where needed with new control arms, struts and headlights. I can paint as necessary.

The questions I have as I search on line to source parts to see if I can maintain a budget are 1) first of all it appears that the front fenders and hood are unique to the convertible/coupe and that sedan hood/fenders (more plentiful) are not interchangeable with the convertible. Is this correct? 2) It looks like the look of the grill/front facia/bumper cover changed on the A4 for 2007-2009 with a more stylized headlight and elongated center to the grill (which I like). My question is since the project requires to replace hood, passengers fender, passengers headlight and bumper cover already is it possible to fit the newer 2007-2009 hood, bumper cover and fenders (not sure if fenders are different) on this 2006? Are the fenders different from 2006 to 2007-09?

If so what else will need to be changed that may be problematic? From the research I have done I wasn't able to turn up any searches talking about folks who may have done this.

I did see that it appears that on line they sell the same replacement core support for the A4 to fit 2005-2008 which is what got me thinking about if this cosmetic update is possible.
