2008 audi a4 2.0T Quattro Automatic Loss of power

Hello, new member here and I'm pretty sure there probably is a thread regarding something similar to what I'm going to post but it might be a little different

issue I am experiencing is loss of power. To be more detailed, I also experience the rpm surging. What happens is that while driving (fine when idle) gears 1 and 2 are 100% fine, when I reach to gear 3 right through 6 I feel a loss of power and watch the rpm dip and then the rpm bounces up and down whether cold or warm but more so when cold and hear and feel a vibration right through the vehicle and is coming from the front end of the vehicle. I've changed the following - hpfp, cam follower, MAP sensor, MAF sensor, fuel filter, camshaft sensor, cam adjustment sensor, EVAP valve, DV valve, changed tranny fluid/filter and plugs and coils. It feels like something is holding back my vehicle as soon as I hit 3rd gear and happens everytime at the same time and around 30-40kmph I'm stumped as to what is causing this

Same problem

Seems we are having a similar problem. I changed my turbo control senser and dv valve and got rid of most of it but not all ...next I'm trying CV axles.......by the way I have no check engine light nor codes

Also serviced trans and filter.......was your fluid burnt?

I had a similar problem with my 2005.5 A4, loss of power traction control not working. Not wanting to shift correctly after 3rd gear, had to manually shift it into 4 5 and 6.
And your going to have a hard time believing what solved the problem.
It was the brake light switch, it is basically a sensor that sends signal to multiple modules in the car.
The loss of power is your car going into limp mode, the part is only $20.00, and takes all of 15 to 20 minutes to change. it is located to the right of the steering column behind the lower dash panel, you will have to remove the fuse panel cover as their is a hidden bolt in that location. Youtube has videos on replacing it.

It will also cause a no start situation in some cases.
