2008 B8 A4 info maybe....
Interesting info. It looks like it likely retains the 2.0T with only a mild boost in output to 210hp but the front susp is revised to give better weight distribution and rumor has it that it will shed some weight too. Listen up APR, the 2.0t is here to stay so get working on that stage 3+ for us cheers! Overly optimistic? What's changing that this is suddenly possible? (sorry, repost)
Audi's have had large front overhangs for as long as I've known them (starting with our 1990 V8 Quattro). I always thought it was just part of driving the front wheels (think Saab 900s).
Is shifting the engine rearward and shortening the front overhang while keeping Torsen-Quattro just wishful thinking? We've seen them do it with the A3 and TT, but those are Haldex-Quattro. What technical change is happening now that this is suddenly possible? Is Audi moving from Torsen to Haldex in order to fix the weight distribution and packaging issues? Thoughts?
I guess we'll just have to wait and see...<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4b7/msgs/44009.phtml">Previous thread</a></li></ul>

Sorry for the repost ;0) I'd like to know what in the suspension is being changed as well. They are still using Torsen but obviously st is different. cheers! Mike

I read somewhere that Audi is planning on a smaller transmission unit for the B8
to allow for the rear displacement of the engine while simultaneously keeping the Torsen Differential. I will attempt a search and post a link soon.
