Default 25k scheduled maintenance question

I'm currently at 23900 miles on the odometer. I just checked the dip stick and the engine oil level is running near the minimum level. Will they let me bring the car in now for 25k scheduled maintenance or it must be very close to 25k? Thanks!

I actually had my car in for an issue with my oil being too low around 23k. They found that there was a breather hose leaking oil, so they replaced it. The excessive oil usage problem is common, but you may want to get it checked out.

When they discovered the problem, they called me to ask if I just wanted to do the 25k service while the car was there, so I would assume they will do the service for you if you want.

Other than outright leakage, is there any other cause of excessive engine oil consumption? They changed the engine oil and filled it a bit above the max level on the dip stick at 15k. Now the engine oil level is just a hair above the minimum at 24k. Would you call this excessive engine oil consumption?

Default Check oil flow regulator valve

Worked for my A3.
1 quart of oil/10000 miles is perfectly normal

Same with my old A3. I'm interested to se if my new B7 A4 has the same rate of oil consumption.

Low and behold, the low engine oil warning sign came up. I checked the dipstick and the oil level was below minimum. What's a good engine oil to top it up that is readily available from any auto supplies store?

No, Audi specs the cars at a quart every couple of thousand miles if I remember correctly. If you're losing more than that, then it's a problem.

Whatever oil you end up buying, make sure to get one that adheres to Audi's VW 502 00 specifications. It should say on the back of the container. It's pretty tough to find (not something you could find in a regular gas station in case you need it) so I leave one in the back of my car in case I need it.

I drove about 100 miles after seeing the yellow low engine oil warning sign. Have I done any damage to the engine or it usually gives you warning well in advance?

The car will give you a warning well in advance, but you should still get it taken care of.
