Default Hire a Cat...

My cat can live in my garage as long as he brings me dead snakes, mice, chip monks, etc. He is very effective. I even give him a heater in the winter! Go to the local pound. They are plentiful!

Default Friend with Jetta just had similar problem. Mechanic advised using

sticky rat bate and place near wiring, where they would normally chew or where droppings are persistant. This caused her major problems as well. Good luck.

Must be something about the materials Audi uses. I have had both mice and squirrels chewing up ****e under the hood of my A4 but never my BMW.

Last week I searched "New Threads" here at AW and there were EIGHT rodent-related posts... on the FIRST PAGE!! The second page had seven IIRC! It's that time of year!!
I'd search here and see if anyone has any brilliant suggestions on other sections of AW...
I had a family of mice in the hood insulation of my long-term project Alfa Romeo in my garage a few years ago. I got them with a silly number of sticky traps. Check the traps often, the mice urinate (I think) when caught, then they stink terribly!
VW/Audi had an OEM part until ~5 years ago called "Vermin Exclusion Kit" or something. It had several long wire brush type things to close off the wheelwells. Maybe it's time for them to bring that back!
Good luck.
